Treatment of storm water

 

HydroSeparator® is a patented and specialized system to effectively clean storm water in places where the space is limited and the requirements for treatment are strict.

The treatment system is based on several integrated cleaning solutions. The first and most dirty part of the storm water – First flush – is retained in a retention tank. The next part of the storm water is passing lamellas as the first cleaning process to remove all big particles. The next step removes small particles using a mesh filter.

After rainfall the retention tank is emptied and the dirty water is pumped to the sewer system. The tank, lamellas and filters are automatically sprayed and flushed with some of the treated water to ensure that the system is clean and ready for the next rainfall. After a long rainfall storm water is relatively clean and for these situations a bypass function can be integrated, to avoid overflow of the HydroSeparator®.

Test has shown a cleaning efficiency of 80 – 90% for suspended solids (SS) and a number of hazardous substances. The outlet values for SS are about 10-30 mg/l.

The capacity of the standard systems varies between 5 l/s and >1000 l/s. With bypass integration the total capacity of a standard system is up to 4.000 l/s. Larger systems can be customized for bigger volumes of storm water. The HydroSeparator® is delivered as a complete solution including pumps, level sensors, SRO and installation, as well as a service and maintenance agreement is offered.
